Father Louis F. Knight

Council 12451

Dana Point, CA 92629

Brothers in Christ,

·        We have a  3rd degree scheduled for  Sunday, June 8th at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Presidio in San Clemente, check-in by 1pm.  Please show support for your new brothers by sidelining.  It never hurts to have a reminder of our 3rd principle of order, Fraternity.  Please contact me with a headcount if you are planning on sidelining and whether you will be staying for dinner ASAP.

·        If any brother Knight is interested in joining the Membership Team or possibly heading the committee chair, please let me know.  I have been your Membership Chairman now for 2 1/2 years and its time for some new blood.  I am willing to train and remain on the membership committee as a councilor and recruiter.  It is for the benefit and growth of this council we rotate Officers and Committee Chairmen.

·        Badges should be worn at all KOFC Sponsored events.  Our State Chaplain Father John Grace, OSA has recommended wearing of our badges in Mass as well.  Be proud of your fraternity and encourage others to follow in our footsteps by joining!

·        About the Knights flyers are attached and can be a used as a great tool to advertise our council to possible candidates.

·        Please continue to pray for those brothers listed below as ill along with their family members.

Being Involved in Charity enforces Unity and is beneficial for both Mind and Soul.

Widow Knight in Need

It has come to our attention that an anonymous widow of a deceased brother Knight is under great financial stress.  As you know, the Knights were formed in 1862 by Venerable Father McGivney to bring Catholic gentlemen together during extreme bigotry towards Catholics.  The 1st charity of order was to provide for its widows.  This benefit fund has grown into one of the worlds largest insurance companies.  However, not all of us take the insurance option.  We have a widow in our council who needs our help.  Please contact Financial Secretary Kent Greenwald if you can make a cash donation.  Brother Kent can fill you in with the details.  You can reach him at 300-8562 or e-mail kpgreenwald@cox.net.
